How We Came to Appreciate TIDs

On Sunday, 23 September 2007, W4MOT in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, worked the St. Brandon DXpedition, 3B7C, on 15m at 1119z and on 12m at 1144z, both on CW.  The unusual thing about these contacts was that sunrise at W4MOT that day was at 1109z, and that the signals behaved in a most unusual manner:  The signals appeared from nothing right before dawn, were 559 to 599 at their peaks, and were totally gone by sunrise plus 45 minutes. It was like a 160m sunrise enhancement opening, in that the signal strength rose dramatically in a period of a few minutes and then faded the same way, not to return that day.  The dramatic way the signals appeared and then disappeared did not sound like typical high band openings and closing...  Read More (PDF)

The shirts are dark blue, with the club's insignia above the pocket. The material is a 60/40 cotton/poly blend, so it breathes and is soft to the touch.
